The lessions of PloneMall - Content and e-commerce

PloneMall is a framework to create e-commerce applications integrated with Plone 2 Content Management System web sites. For some strange reason, Plone never had a definitive solution to create e-commerce web sites. PloneMall is the project that have been modifying this situation as the result of the eforts of several Plone developers arround the world.

PloneMall is a project developed to be used by developers, joing all the best practices from Plone development under a "Model Driven Development" approach. It was tought to be easy to integrate with real live CMS applications and make the e-commerce development faster, flexible and really effective. All PloneMall API were designed using UML and tools that the PloneMall team developed just to make PloneMall project possible.

The talk will focus in a practical demonstrations of how an e-commerce application could be created using Plone and its tools. All the talk will be as practical as possible, showing how PloneMall should be used and extended with a small knowledge of Python programming.

Presenter Bio:

Fabiano Weimar dos Santos is a brazilian Plone Developer and consultant. Fabiano has a good experience in e-commerce development as so as content management applications using Plone and CMF. Nowdays, more than lead the PloneMall development, Fabiano have been working for the brazilian government, universities and companies in United States, Canada and Europe. Fabiano is graduated in Computer Science by the University of Caxias do Sul (Brazil) and did talks about Plone in international free software events. Fabiano is a well know Zope and Plone evangelist and core developer of Archetypes since its first lines of code.
