The Libre Documentation Project
We, the TLDP-ES, are «The Libre Documentation Project» in Spanish. We do publishing services for creating and publishing of libre documentation mainly about libre software.
We'd love to have the opportunity of present in public part of our main R&D works in CMS and publishing. Since we have years of experience in Internet publishing we have reached some very conclusive results. So, we would like to talk about:
- «The problems of the libre documentation publishing», a comprehensive description of the problems and handicaps of e-publishing, the general ones and the particulars to the libre documentation (documentation published under a libre license). For the moment you can read the slides (in Spanish).
- «The libre publishing firm», a work directly inspired in the classic publishing cycle applied to solve «the problems» related below. This concept is the framework for all our developments and deploy of services. For the moment you can reach the slides (in Spanish).
- «Donantonio: bibliographic system for automatic distributed publication», a proposal for a new distributed automatic publishing system designed for its implementation in TLDP-ES, in the «libre publishing firm» framework, but having in mind to be a general purpose documentation system. You can reach the specification (in English)
- «Imprenta-e, a reproduction system for the `libre publishing firm' framework», a tool for automatic unassisted creation and updating of the reproduction formats of documentation and a help reproduction tool for authors. The «Imprenta-e» helps e-librarians reducing almost to zero the non-obvious work of creating the reproduction formats of documentation in order of putting them in the web in a clean, browseable and searchable way. This is a work in development .
- «Specifications for libre language applications», in the framework of the «libre publishing firm» we are specifying the libre applications we need to solve the main of the «libre documentation problems». Most of these applications are useful for the libre software developer/activist and for the language profesional (writer, translator, terminologist, etc). You can find a working draft (in Spanish).
